The 10th International Inter University Short Film Festival has introduced a new category titled "Short Film on Refugee" this year with a call to submit short films on refugees.
10th International Inter-University Short Film Festival- 2018” organised by Dhaka University Film Society (DUFS) in association with United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is a festival to promote and inspire the work of University going filmmakers with the slogan "Take Your Camera, Frame Your Dream", said a press release.
Short filmmakers can submit their works in different sub categories including documentary, fiction, interview and panorama.
Winner and runners up in this category will receive a prize money of $300 and $200 respectively.
The already submitted short films on refugees will automatically be considered in the category, said the press release.
The deadline to submit the works is August 5 this year and the highest duration of the short films is 15 minutes.

According to UNHCR, the population forced to leave their homeland being victims of any kind of violence or oppression is refugees. Persecution happened due to different reasons including communal identity, nationality, political ideology, race and so on.
While a migrant can willing migrate to another place for different reasons including economic reason, refugees are forced to migrate, said UNHCR.
Over the years, IIUSF has been working as a cross-cultural platform to portray the different styles and dimensions of young University-going filmmakers throughout the world.
