Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Monday said the BNP did a mistake by scarping section seven of the party constitution as such decision might propel a bleak political future for the party.
Quader, also the Road Transport and Bridges Minister, came up with this observation at a discussion organized by Awami Jubo League at Mohanagar Natyamancha in the capital.
“Scraping section-7 of BNP’s constitution has harmed political future of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and her son Tarique Rahman,” Quader told.
Leaders and activists of Awami Jubo League, among others, were present at the discussion with its Chairman Mohammad Omar Faruque Chowdhury in the chair.
Quader said none has to do anything to break BNP as negative politics of the party is enough to break itself.
He said, “Awami League does not need to engage itself in any conspiracy to break BNP. It is in a good shape. BNP is enough to break the party.”
He said the people of the country will reject BNP as they are engaged in destructive and negative politics.
BNP has annulled section 7 of the party’s constitution to protect corrupt politicians, Quader said adding the exposure of Zia family’s corruption has put the BNP into mental agony.
