West Indies opener Kraigg Brathwaite hit a century of 110 runs in the 1st innings on day one to dominate over visiting Bangladesh bowlers in the series-decider second Test at Sabina Park, Kingston in Jamaica on Thursday.
Sent in to bat first, West Indies collected 295 for 4 in 92 overs, at stumps, where Shimron Hetmyer [84* off 98b; 9x4; 1x6] and Roston Chase [16* off 25b; 2x4] were on batting in the 5ht stand at the end of the day.
Big hitter Brathwaite fired nine boundaries, playing an innings of 279 balls before being caught by Taijul Islam off Mehidy Hasan Miraz on 247/4 in 83.2 overs.
Apart from his individual score, Brathwaite shared 109 off 26 overs partnership innings with Hetmyer in the 4th wicket, starting from 138/3 in 57.2 overs.
Kieran Powell and Shai Hope added 29 runs each to be double digit scorers for the side on the 1st day.
Miraz (3/90) made the first breakthrough for Bangladesh dismissing Devon Smith on 9/1 in 8.1 overs while Taijul (1/65) was another wicket taker for the side.
