Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) selectors added pace sensation Musfafizur Rahman and leg spinner Jubair Hossain in Bangladesh A team’s Test squad against visitors Sri Lanka A for the third unofficial Test.

Mustafiz who had been suffering from a foot injury after returning home from IPL, was included in Bangladesh National Cricket Team’s 16-men ODI squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against West Indies.

Bangladesh are busy in West Indies ahead of their second and final Test against West India at Kingston, Jamaica. After the Test series Bangladesh will start their ODI series preparation. Their ODI series campaign will start from July 22.

Injury blow spoiled Mustafizur’s international career many times in the past. He recently missed the three-match T20 series against Afghanistan in Dehradun. But after a long-gap he is fit to play international match though BCB is focusing more on match practice against Sri Lanka A.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s forgotten leg spinner Jubair Hossain finally got a nod to prove his worth as he got a call up against Sri Lanka A.

Jubair last played in longer version cricket for Bangladesh in 2016. In last two years he played only three list A matches. He played his last Test for Bangladesh A team against Ireland A team.

Fitness and lack of practice was the major concern for Jubair but recently the leg spinner worked hard with bowling and fitness as a reward he got berth in Bangladesh HP squad and now he is going to play for Bangladesh A.

Young pacer Hasan Mahmood who impressed everyone in Under-19 World Cup, left arm spinner Sanzamul Islam and batsman Mizanur Rahman also got a nod for Bangladesh A.

The incessant rain in Chittagong dominated the first two days of the four-day match while only 15 overs were bowled in the third day and the match between hosts Bangladesh A and visitors Sri Lanka A petered out to a dreary draw in the final day after Sri Lanka managed 281 for five (dec) and Bangladesh could manage 59 for 1.

Bangladesh A Squad: Sadman Islam, Soumya Sarkar, Afif Hossain, Shariful Islam, Ebadat Hossain, Nayem Hasan, Saif Hasan, Zakir Hossain, Tushar Imran, Mazanur Rahman, Mohammad Mithun, Sanzamul Islam, Jubair Hossain, Syed Khaled Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud and Mustafizur Rahman.
