Rajshahi University (RU) has cancelled the Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) system in the honours admission tests.
The decision will come under effect from 2018-19 academic year of the university, said Professor M. Abdus Sobhan, the vice-chancellor of the university.
Professor M. Abdus Sobhan came up with the announcement while talking to journalists after attending a program held over the 65th founding anniversary of the university on Friday.
He said, “Real talent of the students could not be adjudged through MCQ. So, the MCQ system will no longer be implemented in honours admission tests in the university.”
Earlier, in April this year, Jagannath University (JnU) has also cancelled the Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) system in all academic examinations, including in the honours admission tests.
At present, almost all the higher educational institutions in the country hold MCQ-based exams for admission seekers.
