Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has received a notice from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for allegedly carrying out illegal constructions at her spa in Oshiwara.
According to reports, civic officials received complains about unauthorised constructions at Charishma Beauty Spa and Salon, which is owned by Priyanka. A senior ward officer said, “Our team visited the spa and found that that the actress had built a mezzanine floor flouting the rules under the Maharashtra Regional Town Planning Act.”
If Priyanka fails to comply with the notice, the BMC will demolish the illegal alterations. “In the notice, we have asked the owner to remove the unauthorised alterations and restore the construction as per the layout sanctioned in 2013,” the official added.
Responding to the reports, Priyanka Chopra’s spokesperson said in a statement, “We have received the notice from the BMC. We are coordinating with the officials and have already taken the required appropriate measures.”
Other than the Quantico actress, comedian Kapil Sharma, actor and BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha, Arshad Warsi and Shahrukh Khan have got notices from the BMC for alleged illegal constructions on their properties.
