New air chief meets president

The newly appointed Chief of Air Staff Air Vice Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat met President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on Thursday afternoon, reports UNB.

President’s press secretary, Md Joynal Abedin said the President greeted the new Air Chief and hoped the Air Force would develop further under the leadership of Masihuzzaman Serniabat.

He suggested the Air Chief to take steps so that Bangladesh’s Air Force can achieve skills for competing with the air forces of developed countries.

President said Bangladesh’s Air Force has been playing an important role and representing the positive view of the country in United Nation’s peace keeping missions.

The Air Force Chief also sought assistance of the President in performing his duty. Earlier on Tuesday, the newly appointed Chief of Air Staff Air Vice Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat took over the command of Bangladesh Air Force.

He succeeded the outgoing Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Abu Esrar.
