Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU) was declared closed sine die on Thursday as two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) had been on a collision course on the campus.
The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the Syndicate at noon.
SAU Registrar Badrul Islam Shoaib said the authorities took the decision considering the overall situation.
As per the decision, resident male students vacated their dormitories by 5pm today while the female ones were asked to leave the halls by 9am Friday.
Campus sources said the two BCL factions had been on a collision course over internal conflict, creating tensions on the campus.
