Eight ‘human traffickers’ held in Faridpur

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested eight suspected members of a human trafficking gang, including three women, from Bakhunda and Shibrampur areas of Sadar upazila in Faridpur district on Friday, reports UNB.

 

The arrestees were identified as Md Liton Sheikh, 30, Nasima Begum Kamala, 50, Naimuzzaman Raju, 19, Sharmin Begum Lipi, 33, Md Mostaque Khan, 40, Sheikh Alauddin, 60, Tanjila Akhter, 19, and Sheikh Afzal, 35.

 

Being tipped off, a team of Rab-8 conducted drives in the areas and arrested them, said Md Rais Uddin, company commander of the elite force battalion.
