Stocks finished the week down on Thursday with falling trend of all major price indices at Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges as the daily transactions declined amid volatility in large-cap securities.
The broader DSEX of the DSE finished the week with 143.91 points down at 5,443.31. The blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 48.15 points down at 2,025.39 and with 29.29 points down at 1,277.60 respectively, reports BSS.Out of the 342 issues traded at DSE today, 59 issues gained against 267 losing issues. During the week, the daily average trade value declined by 25.40 percent to Taka 390.51 crore and the average trade volume fell by 28.80 percent to 10.29 crore shares when majority of the traded issues closed up.
The top five gainers of the week were Monno Stafflers, Standard Insurance, Queen South, SIBL and ARAMITCEM. The major losing issues of the week were One Bank Limited, MTB, Tunghai, IFIC and East Land. The top five turnover leaders were INTRACO, WMSHIPARD, UPGDCL, BSRM Limited and Brac Bank.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed the week down, with its major CASPI index ending 457.10 points lower at 16,803.97.
