PM Sheikh Hasina inaugurates 27 projects at Dhaka Cantonment

 

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated 27 projects at Dhaka Cantonment today (Sunday).

 

The projects included a cancer centre at Dhaka Cantonment, fertility centre, edible oil mill, various establishments of training and housing facilities for the army members.

 

By expressing sympathy to army members, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said she did not eat rice two years in lunch hour after came in power in 1996.

 

The Prime Minister said “ We got food-deficit after taking power in 1996. After taking power, I went to Darbar Hall and asked army members about their problems. They said we want to eat rice instead of bread in lunch hour. From then, I did not eat rice in lunch our till 1998. I ate rice in 1998 after alleviating food-deficiency from country and arranging rice for army members.”

 

The Prime Minister said “We have no self-interest. We have come in power for development of countrymen. We will alleviate poverty from country within 2021.”

 

“Nobody will be homeless in our country. We will built house who are homless. We have reduced poverty 22 percent from 41 percent. We have been recognized as developing country from Least developed countries (LDCs),” she says.

 

The premier said “Over 11 lakh Myanmar refugees have taken shelter in Bangladesh. Our army members are working for them sincerely.”
