A Dhaka court on Thursday awarded six months of imprisonment to a man over a case filed for burying two dogs and 14 puppies alive in Dhaka in October 2017.
The court of Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ahsan Habib delivered the second ever verdict in animal cruelty case fining security guard Md Siddique Tk 200, in default, to suffer seven days more in jail.
Siddique is now on the run. However, his term will start from the day of his arrest or surrender.
Last year, Bagichartek Welfare Association, a Rampura-base youth engagement club, allegedly buried the two stray dogs and 14 puppies alive at Mohanagar Project area in the capital.
