Two street children found dead on train roof in Ctg

CHITTAGONG: Police recovered bodies of two unidentified street children and rescued an injured one from the roof of a train at Chittagong Railway Station on Tuesday night.  

The injured child is identified as Raihan, 8, hailed from Joydebpur in Gazipur.

Sources said inter-city ‘Subarna Express’ train from the capital reached the railway station at around 8:30pm on Tuesday.  

On receiving information, police recovered the bodies of the two minor boys aged around eight to ten years from roof of the train.

Quoting Raihan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahidul Islam of Government Railway Police (GRP) Chittagong station said a total of five urchins, including Raihan, climbed on roof of the Chittagong-bound train from Biman Bandar Station in the capital.

At one stage of playing on the running train, they got hurt by hit of an overbridge before the Feni Station. 

Following the hit, three of the boys sustained severe injuries. Two of them succumbed to injuries on the roof, said the OC.
