A mock fire drill was held at Bashundhara City Shopping Mall in the capital on Tuesday to build the capacity of its workers to deal with any fire-related incidents successfully.
Bashundhara City firefighters took part in the fire-fighting exercise held in cooperation with the Directorate of Fire Service and Civil Defence.
During the fire drill, Bashundhara shopping mall firefighters displayed their skills in dousing fire, rescuing trapped people and providing first aid for the injured people.
General Manager (Admin & HRM) of Bashundhara City Development Ltd Mejor Molla Mustaq Reza (Rtd) conducted the fire drill while Senior Officer (Fire & Safety) Mr Md Usuf Ali coordinated the function.
The aim of the mock drill was to assess strengths and weaknesses of the Mall, so that corrective measures can be undertaken for a better fire response in future to minimize the loss and damages.
