The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) on Monday launched drives against unfit and faulty vehicles in different parts of the capital.
Shawkat Ali, secretary of BRTA, said the drive began at Manik Mia Avenue around 9am, reports UNB.
The drives are being conducted against unfit vehicles and to raise awareness among city dwellers about road safety, said the official.
Unfit vehicles were being fined by the mobile courts in the presence of BRTA officials, he added.
Meanwhile, Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader visited the spot at Manik Mia Avenue.
