BCL withdraws expulsion order on Isha

Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) has withdrawn its previous order expelling a leader of its Kabi Sufia Kamal Hall unit for allegedly torturing a student inside the hall.

A press release signed by BCL president Saifur Rahman Sohag and secretary S M Jakir Hossain revealed this on Friday.

The decision was taken on Friday as Iffat Jahan Isha, president of Sufia Kamal hall unit of BCL, was found innocent, in an investigation, said the press release.

Earlier, Dhaka University authorities and BCL expelled Iffat Jahan Isha on Wednesday.

Isha was beaten and humiliated by the students of the dormitory as she resisted them from taking part in quota reform movement.

She was also blamed for cutting tendons of a student named Morsheda Akhter, a 4th year student of Botany Department. The video of Morsheda’s leg cut went viral which claiming her tendons were cut by Isha.

The rumor triggered a students’ outrage that thrashed Isha by disrobing and wearing shoe-necklace.
