A Dhaka court has placed Hadisur Rahman Sagar, one of the top militants of Neo JMB who allegedly supplied bombs during the Holey Artisan attack in the capital’s Gulshan, on a 7-day remand.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Raihanul Islam passed the order on Thursday.
Earlier, Humayun Kabir, Inspector of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crimes (CTTC) unit, also Investigation Officer (IO) of the case filed under Anti-Terrorism Act, produced him before the court and sought for a 10-day remand to unearth the mystery behind the attack.
A team of Detective Branch (DB) of Police in Bogra nabbed Sagor and another JMB member conducting a drive at Kichak area of the district’s Shibganj upazila on Wednesday night.
Later, they were handed over to CTTC.
Militants carried out the attack on Holey Artisan Bakery of the capital’s Gulshan on July 1 night, 2016, leaving 20 dead. Of the deceased, 17 were foreign nationals.
