A 14-day long painting exhibition of late poet, lyricist and writer Syed Shamsul Haque will begin in the city on Friday, UNB reports.
Renowned artist and chairman of the trustee board of Bangladesh National Museum Hashem Khan will inaugurate the exhibition titled ‘Chitrer Dibbaroth' at Daily Star-Bengal Arts Precinct of The Daily Star Centre at 6 pm on the day.
The exhibition to be organised by Bengal Foundation will introduce Syed Shamsul Haque as a painter to this fans and followers.
Shamsul Haq was born on December 27, 1935 and died on September 27, 2016.
He was awarded the Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1966 (the youngest among all to receive it) while the Ekushey Padak in 1984 and the Independence Award in 2000.
His notable books include "Payer Awaj Pawa Jai", "Nishiddho Loban", "Khelaram Khele Ja", "Neel Dongshon" and "Mrigoya".
The exhibition will remain open from 12 pm to 8 pm every day until April 5..
