The grand finale of the first-ever English Olympiad in the country will be held at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital on Friday.
The gala event has been organised by the daily sun and Worldwide Organisation and Charity (WOC).
Chairman of Bashundhara Group Ahmed Akbar Sobhan will attend the occasion as the chief guest.
Bangladesh Pratidin editor Naem Nizam, also CEO of NEWS24 and Radio Capital, Kaler Kantho editor Imdadul Haq Milon, former Bangladesh Bank governor Dr Atiur Rahman and former BGMEA president Atiqul Islam will be present as the guests of honour.
Daily sun editor Enamul Hoque Chowdhury will preside over the grand finale and prize-giving ceremony to be held at hall-1 of the ICCB.
Out of 35,000 participants from across the country, 800 have been short-listed for the final round which will begin at 9:00am.
Top 10 performers will be selected from six groups each. The six groups are Kids (below class 2), Small Starts (3-5 classes), Juniors (6-8 classes), High Flyers (9-10 classes), Trailblazers (11-12 classes), and Seniors (any student above HSC).
Top three of each group will have to show their excellence at the stage performance to be champions and runners-up of the six groups each.
Campus ambassadors from all over the country will attend the event.
Guardians of the participants will also be present on the occasion.
English Olympiad began on January 1, 2017 with the motto of "Inspiring Leadership".
