Book fair begins at Shishu Academy

 

An eleven-day book fair is set to begin today (Friday) at Bangladesh Shishu Academy on the occasion of 99th birth day of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children Day.

 

Emeritus Professor Dr Anisuzzaman is expected to inaugurate the book fair, this was revealed by Director of Bangladesh Shishu Academy Anzir Liton at a press conference here today.

 

Chairman of Bangladesh Shishu Academy and eminent writer Selina Hossain, among others, was present at the function.

 

Women and Children Affairs Minister Meher Afroz Chumki will attend the function as the chief guest while Secretary of the Ministry Nasima Begum will be present as the special guest.

 

Anzir Liton said the book fair will begin tomorrow and it will continue till March 26.

 

The book fair will remain open to all from 3pm to 8pm on working days and 10am to 8pm on government holidays.

 

As many as 66 private publishing houses and seven government organizations are taking part in the fair.

 

Different programmes, including discussions, cultural function and various completions, will be held at the book fair.
