A suspected robber has been killed and another injured in a reported gunfight between two gangs of Rohingya robbers at Noyapara Refugee Camp in Cox’s Bazar.

The incident was reported from Nayapara around 4am Thursday, said Teknaf police OC Ranjit Kumar Barua.

The deceased was identified as Bailya Dakat, 30, one of top aides of Hakim Dakat, who was fugitive accused in many cases.

Injured Nurul Alam, who was accused in a case filed over attack on Ansar barrack and looting, managed to flee the scene, said Ranjit Kumar Barua, officer-in-charge Teknaf Police Station.

Police, however, detained two robbers – Abdur Razzak and Abdus Salam - from the spot.
