Trading on the country's two bourses - Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) - is underway with downward trends of share-price indices on Sunday.
After first one hour of the day's trading, the benchmark index of the DSE went down by 42.45 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse lost 68.26 points.
DSEX, the Broad Index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 42.45 points or 0.71 percent to stand at 5,864.52 at 11:51am.
The two other indices also edged lower.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) lost 7.32 points or 0.53 percent to stand at 1,368 points.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips declined 20.44 points or 0.94 percent to stand at 2,149.80.
Trade deals stood at 34,495 shares to stand at Tk 1,387 million on the DSE, riding on Unique Hotel & Resorts and Pharma Aids.
Of the issues traded, 93 advanced, 169 declined and 39 remained unchanged.
Unique Hotel and Resorts Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 87.22 million having changed hands.
Following the suit, the Chittagong Stock Exchange Selective Categories Index (CSCX) climbed down to 10,950.90 by losing over 68.26 points at about 11:50am.
Out of the issues traded, 31 gained, 81 declined and14 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 52.23 million.
