People want to see BNP's corrupt leaders in jail, says Mahbubul Alam Hanif

Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif Saturday termed Khaleda Zia as corrupt and terrorist and said the people want to see BNP's corrupt and terrorist leaders in prison to ensure safety and peace in the country, reports BSS.

"If BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia's imprisonment plays a positive role in increasing votes for the party, then she should remain in jail until her death," he told journalists in Kushtia, replying a query on the BNP leaders' demand that Khaleda's imprisonment would increase votes for the party.

Later, Hanif inaugurated a daylong programme of Kushtia Polytechnic Institute hoisting the national flag as the chief guest marking the annual sports competition and prize giving ceremony.

Acting Principle of the institute Mosharraf Hossain presided over the inaugural function that was addressed by, among others, Kushtia district AL President Sadar Uddin Khan, Vice-President Rabiul Islam and General Secretary Ajgar Ali and Superintendent of Police SM Mehedi Hasan as special guests.

Addressing the function, Hanif said engineers have a big role to play in building the 'Sonar Bangla' of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Referring to the glorious history of the Kushtia Polytechnic Institute, he urged students and teachers of the institute to be more sincere to their academic activities.
