Valiant freedom fighter and also a former lawmaker, Mohammad Yousuf, passed away at the Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka on Sunday morning.
He was 69.
The former MP from Rangunia Constituency died of old age complications, his family members informed.
Bachelor Yousuf left behind two brothers, two sisters and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
His death cast a pall of gloom in political, cultural and social arenas in the city and elsewhere in the district.
Mohammad Sekandar, younger brother of Mohammad Yousuf told journalists that the decision of holding his namaz-e-janaza is yet to be taken.
Earlier, the ailing Yusuf had been taken to Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka on January 10 last by the directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for his better treatment.
