Awami League (AL) Presidium Member and Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim said in Rajshahi on Monday that the train of the upcoming national election will not wait for anyone.
"If BNP does not take part the election without Begum Khaleda Zia, it would not be stopped," he said, adding people will bring back Bangladesh Awami League to power again to maintain the ongoing development pace, reports BSS.
Nasim was addressing a public meeting at Shaheb Bazar Zero Point marking the forthcoming visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to Rajshahi.
He urged all the party leaders and workers to turn the Rajshahi's meeting of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina into a human sea.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to visit Rajshahi on February 22.
"Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will come here with message of development and will portray a development planning for the region in the meeting. So, you have to bring public in general to the meeting," he added.
City unit Awami League President AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, Akhter Jahan, MP, and other local leaders also addressed the meeting.
Nasim said Begum Khaleda Zia plundered orphanage money and she has been convicted by trial court. So, none is responsible for her conviction and election is a continuous process.
But, if anyone tries to foil election with an ulterior motive to hinder development process the ill-motive will not be tolerated. Leaders and workers of Awami League-led 14-party alliance will face election-foiling elements unitedly.
Terming the caretaker government as dead issue Nasim said the system will never come. Election will be held as per Constitution.
