Much has been written about the simmering tension between Padmaavat co-stars, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. Shahid's comments that he felt "like an outsider" on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film, and that he would have done Alauddin Khilji (Ranveer's character) "differently" have been interpreted as proof of the said rivalry.
According to reports, Shahid had refused to be part of the success party, as he does not want to share the stage with Ranveer Singh. It is no secret that Ranveer walked away with most of the praise for Padmaavat, and apparently, Shahid is left feeling a little insecure that his Maharawal Ratan Singh did not get as much attention.
However, Shobha Sant, the CEO of Bhansali Productions took to Twitter to quash the rumours. "This is #fiction too. The producers, both @Viacom18Movies and #BhansaliProductions are busy trying to release #Padmaavat in the 3 states. No time to discuss #successparty... as yet," she wrote.
Padmaavat, which hit the theatres on January 25, is currently inching towards the Rs 250-crore mark at the box office. The period drama has already become the highest-grossing film of Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's careers.
