The export-import operations between Bangladesh and India through Bhomra land port remained suspended on Tuesday for second consecutive day due to an indefinite strike enforced by the Ghozadanga port C&F agent associations of India.
The suspension for the second day caused traffic gridlock in the port area. And following the strike, around 1500 goods-laden trucks remained stranded on both sides of the port, said Kazi Nowshad Dilwar Raju, president of Bhomra C&F agent associations.
Ghozadanga C&F Agent Association of India went on the strike over internal clash with the Indian Customs.
Mihir Kanti Gosh, general secretary of the Ghozadanga port C&F agent associations, said that they will continue their strike until solution of the crisis.
