Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Saturday said through amending the party constitution, the BNP gave verdict that its chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is corrupted, reports BSS.
The BNP itself gave a verdict in Zia Orphanage Trust Graft case before the court verdict by changing Clause 7 of the party constitution, he told a warm clothes distribution function in city’s Shymoli area.
As per the clause of the constitution of BNP, Quader said, no corrupt person or terrorist cannot be a member of the party. If Khaleda is convicted by the court, she cannot remain as a member of BNP, he said.
Awami League Joint General Secretary Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak addressed the function as special guest with AL Adabor Thana unit President Md Abdul Mannan in the chair.
