Bangladesh exports vegetables to 41 countries

Bangladesh exports vegetables to 41 countries across the world, according to a statistics placed by Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed in Parliament on Tuesday.

 

Bangladesh earned US$ 81.03 million exporting vegetables in the last fiscal year of 2016-17, he said replying to a starred question from Awami League MP Morshed Alam (Noakhali-2).

 

Tofail said various vegetables, including tomato, carrot, bean, brinjal, potato, lady’s finger, cowpea and mushroom, are exported abroad.

 

The 41 countries are Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, the UAE, the UK, Qatar, Kuwait, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Italy, Bahrain, Nepal, Oman, Canada, France, Japan, the USA, Germany, Brunei, Greece, Kiribati, Australia, Finland, Lebanon, the Maldives, Ireland, Sweden, Indonesia, China, Myanmar, Portugal, Taiwan, Russia, Vietnam, Belgium, Jordan, Switzerland, India, Solomon Islands, New Zealand, Pakistan and Hong Kong.
