Trading on the country's both bourses - Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange - is underway with upward trends in early hours on Thursday.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX gained 4.34 points or 0.07 percent to 6,205 at 12:20pm.
But the two other indices at DSE edged lower till then. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) went down by 3.98 points or 0.27 percent to 1,427.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also advanced 5.07 points or 0.22 percent to stand at 2,298.87 points.
Of the issues traded, 148 gained, 117 declined and 51 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 1,559.82 million changed hands till then at the DSE.
Grameenphone was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 93.12 million changing hands followed by Bangladesh Finance & Investment, Square Pharmaceuticals and National Bank.
The port city bourse - Chittagong Stocks Exchange (CSE) - also witnessed a downward trend in the early with its Selective Category Index gaining 2.35 points to 11,565 at 12:19 pm.
Of the issues 159 traded till then, 62 gained, 61 declined and 36 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 57.95 million.
