Ansar-Police scuffle at DMCH

A police officer clashed with a member of Ansar as they got into a scuffle over the entrance to the post-operative ward at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Wednesday afternoon.

 

Md. Saiful Islam, 27, is the member of  Bangladesh Ansar and VDP,  who was on duty at the hospital when the incident occured, while Mahbubul Alom Mahbub, 24, has been identified as a police officer who will go nationwide, a constable who works at Mirpur West Police line.

 

Mahbub (police) alleges Saiful (Ansar) intercepted him as he went to DMCH on Wednesday morning to visit his colleague Md.

“Mahbub attacked me after I asked for his ID as he was forcibly entering the room,” Saifur said, adding he was within his rights to do so as he was ‘on duty’.

 

Quoting witnesses, Platoon Commander of Dhaka Medical College Hospital Md. Badal Mia said, “Some swooped on the police member following two rounds of altercation.”

 

Both the injured were admitted to the hospital.
