The second phase of Biswa Ijtema, the largest Muslim congregation after the holy hajj, will conclude with Akheri Munajat (final prayers) on the banks of the Turag River at Tongi in Gazipur today (Sunday).
The activities of this phase started with sermons of Mawlana Mohammad Hossain after Fajr prayers on Saturday.
Meanwhile, two more devotees died of heart attack and other ailments in this phase. They were identified as Mobarak Hossain alias Mohor Ali of Islampur under Jamalpur and Md Shahidul Islam of South Keraniganj.
With them, the death toll rose to seven in the 53rd Biswa Ijtema, this year.
Devotees from 13 districts took part in this phase of Ijtema where 3,917 foreign devotees from 78 countries also joined.
Devotees from 37 districts will attend the third phase of Ijtema.
Earlier, 4,473 devotees from 88 countries joined the first phase of Ijtema that started on January 12 and concluded on January 14.
