The 16th Dhaka International Film Festival ended Saturday at the National Museum here with screening of 216 movies of 64 countries as Turkish movie Zer directed by Kazim Oz won the best film award.
Under the patronization of Foreign Ministry, Rainbow Film Society hosted the nine-day film festival at the National Museum.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest while State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam joined it as the special guest.
Festival Organising Committee Chairman Kishowar Kamal chaired the function while its director Ahmed Mujtuba Jamal addressed it.
Awards were given under different categories including best actor, actress, juveniles film and director.
Alan Daicz won the best actor award for starring in Pilipino movie Bomba.
Australia, Argentina, Portugal, Czech Republic, Madagascar, Thailand, Mongolia, Serbia, Turkey, Spain, Jordan and Palestine included the participating countries.
