Post, Telecommunications and ICT Minister Mustafa Jabbar today said that the present government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working hard to build a 'digital and developed' Bangladesh'.
He was speaking at a civic reception accorded to him at Abdul Jabbar Rabeya Khatun Girls High School at Khaliajury upazila under Netrakona district.
Chaired by the school governing body chairman Rabbani Jabbar, the reception was addressed, among others, by Netrakona Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr. Musfiqur Rahman, Police Super Joydeb Chowdhory, President of Awami League Khaliajury upazila unit Golam Kibria Jabbar, General Secretary of the unit Abul Kalam Azad and Netrakona Zila Parishad Member Golam Abu Ishak.
The minister underscored the need of timely and proper construction and repairing of the flood control embankments in the haor areas to save crops from the flood waters.
He said that necessary steps should be taken immediately for repairing all the flood protection embankments in the haor areas for mitigating sufferings of the haor people.
