Five college students, arrested in connection with the killing of a student of Chittagong Collegiate School in the city’s Jamal Khan area, confessed to their involvement in the murder before a court here on Friday afternoon.
Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Saleh Md Noman recorded their confessional statement under section 164, said Mohammad Jasim Uddin, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station.
The five are— Sabbir, Fahim, Aabu Sayed and Arman, 2nd year students of Hazera Taju Degree College and Muntasir.
Emdad Hossain Chowdhury, sub-inspector of Kotwali Police station and also the investigation officer of the case, produced them in court.
Earlier, police arrested the five college students in connection with the killing on Thursday.
On January 16, Adnan Isfar, 15, a class-IX student of Chittagong Collegiate School and College, was stabbed to death by some youths in the city following a dispute over a cricket match.
At one stage of the argument, Isfar’s friends stabbed him, said the OC, adding that the boy started running after being chased and collapsed at Jamal khan.
He was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
The OC said they managed to collect video footage which showed the schoolboy was running in an injured condition while some others were chasing him.
Following the incident, a case was filed with the police station.
