6 Shibir men held with crude bombs

Police in a drive arrested six activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir along with three crude bombs from Godaghata area in Sadar upazila of Satkhira early Friday.


The arrested Shibir men were identified as Hafez Abdul Hakim, 31, Afzal Hossain, 19, Yunus Ali, 21, Saddam Hossain, 18, Abdul Hannan, 26, and Hamidur Rahman, 22.


Tipped off that some leaders and activists of BNP and Jamaat-Shibir were holding a clandestine meeting near Godaghata mosque, a team of police conducted a drive there and arrested the six Shibir activists, said a press release of Satkhira Sadar Police, reports UNB.


Police also recovered four crude bombs, bomb making materials, four electronic devices and different books from the spot.


A case was filed.
