Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Thursday said no one of those involved in Tuesday's Narayanganj clash that injured at least 50 people, including Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) Mayor Selina Hayat Ivy, will be spared, reports UNB.
The Home Minister came up with the warning when his attention was drawn to Tuesday's Narayanganj clash after he inaugurated an upgraded rehabilitation centre under Department of Narcotics Control at Tejgaon in the afternoon.
"The incident is thoroughly being investigated. No one of those involved in the incident as well as those brandished firearms will be spared," he warned.
The NCC mayor and 50 others were injured in a clash between hawkers, reportedly backed by local MP Shamim Osman, and the followers of Selina Hayat Ivy during an eviction drive at Chashara intersection of Narayanganj city on Tuesday afternoon.
Earlier on Sunday, Shamim Osman permitted the hawkers to run their business on footpaths until they are rehabilitated.
The NCC mayor blamed Shamim Osman for the incident and demanded immediate withdrawal of the Superintendent of Police and Deputy Commissioner of Narayanganj.
