The University Grants Commission will develop two software packages with a view to checking plagiarism and facilitating research as well as distance learning education for universities.

The software packages will be developed by Bangladesh Research and Education Network (BdREN), a component of Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) of UGC, said Chairman of UGC Professor Abdul Mannan while addressing as the chief guest a workshop titled “Awareness on Research Gateway and Distance Learning Education” at UGC auditorium in city’s Agargaon area on Tuesday, said a press release.

He said BdREN will immensely benefit the learners and researchers of the universities in conducting their research activities and it will also help to reach distance learning education to a large community in a cost-effective and efficient way.
