Some 38 members of three more robber gangs of the Sundarbans, including their ringleaders, surrendered to law enforcers on Tuesday in a bid to return to normal life.
They gave in at the Rapid Action Battalion-8 headquarters in Barisal in the presence of Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan in the afternoon.
RAB sources said those surrendered were active members of 'Baro Bhai Bahini', 'Bhai Bhai Bahini' and 'Sumon Bahini' robber gangs.
They also handed over 38 local and foreign firearms and 2,969 bullets.
Speaking at the programme, the Home Minister said, "We're welcoming those who want to return to normal life realising their mistakes. At the same time, we're warning those who are still involved in robbery. We'll take stern actions against them."
RAB Director General Benazir Ahmed was also presented on the occasion.
Earlier, some 152 members of 14 robber gangs, including their kingpins, surrendered to the law enforcers and returned to normal life.
The government has also allocated fund for their rehabilitation.
