Tareque Masud Film Week begins Friday

The 'Tareque Masud Film Week' will begin on Friday at European Standard School in the city's Dhanmondi.

The opening ceremony of the festival will be held at 5 pm, said organisers.

Muktir Gaan, Otorjatra, Runway, Noroshundor, Adam Surat and Matir Moina will be screened in the festival organised by Digital Life.

The event will continue till January 16 and it will remain open for all.

Tareque Masud was a renowned Bangladeshi independent film director, filmmaker, film producer, screenwriter and lyricist.

His films - Muktir Gaan and Matir Moina - earned named and fame in home and abroad and for this, he bagged three international awards.

The filmmaker died in a road accident on August 13 in 2011 on the Dhaka-Aricha highway while returning to Dhaka from Manikganj after visiting a film spot.

Then Masud was working on Kagojer Phool (The Paper Flower).

In 2012, Tareque Masud posthumously received Ekushey Padak, the highest civilian award of Bangladesh, reports Unb.
