An agreement was signed between Dhaka Water Supply & Sewerage Authority (DWASA) and a privet company named Gulshan Clean and Cleaning (GCC) for ensuring the modern FSM service for Dhaka city dwellers on January 2.
DWASA has provided two Vacuum Tankers to the GCC though the agreement which will empty the fecal sludge from septic tanks and dispose it in a scientific and environmental friendly way. The international development organization WSUP Bangladesh is proving all sorts of technical support for DWASA and GCC for strengthening this PPP.
The signing ceremony is held at DWASA Office where Engr. Uttam Kumar Roy DMD-Finance & RPD (Addi. Charge) Commercial Manager DWASA and Kamrul Islam, Proprietor GCC signed the agreement for respective organizations.
Abdus Shaheen, Country Programme Manager WSUP along with other officials from WSUP and other sector actors were present in the occasion.
With signing this agreement, the initiative mostly known as SWEEP, designed and supported by INGO WSUP has successfully entered its third years.
Speaking on the occasion, Engr. Uttam Kumar Roy FCMA (DMD-Finance & RPD -Add. Charge, Commercial Manager DWASA) said " this model has been a good success for the last two years, and now it's time to scale it up in Dhaka as well as other parts of Bangladesh".
Mr. Kamrul Islam (Proprietor GCC) said " it's a great privilege to get the opportunity of providing FSM services across the Dhaka city for consecutive three years".
