BNP prepares to hold rally, black flag procession on January 5

BNP is taking preparations to hold a rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on January 5 marking the ‘Democracy Killing Day’.

 

The party desires to hold rally and carry out black flag procession in metropolitan cities, districts and upazilas across the country on the same day.

 

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made the disclosure at a press briefing held at party’s Naya Paltan central office in Dhaka on Monday.

 

Rizvi said the BNP sent a letter on Saturday to the police and the venue authority asking for permission to hold the rally.

 

“Although we have not received any response yet, we are taking all preparations for holding the rally.”

 

Among the BNP leaders, AZM Jahid Hossain, Khairul Kobir Khokon, Mir Sarafat Ali Sopu and Rafiqul Islam Mahatab were present.

 

 

Rizvi said the BNP sent a letter on Saturday to the police and the venue authority asking for permission to hold the rally.

 

“Although we have not received any response yet, we are taking all preparation for the public rally.”
