Mentioning that the next general election will be held in time, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Friday said their party will assume power again winning the polls.
He made the remarks while distributing food and blankets among Rohingyas at Kutupalong camp-1 in Ukhia upazila of Cox's Bazar.
Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said there is a major breakthrough in the repatriation of Myanmar’s displaced nationals. “In the first phase, a list of 1 lakh Rohingyas has been handed over to Myanmar for repatriation,” he said, adding that the government will ensure their safe return to their own country with dignity.
Around 700 packets of food and 1,500 blankets were distributed among the refugees under the management of the district administration.
Quader also distributed medicines among the Rohingyas at the free medical camp set up by Bangladesh Chhatra League at the refugee settlement.
