Members of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police in a drive on Friday arrested three people from Tantibazar of the city for their alleged involvement in trading fake medicines.

The arrestees were identified as Dulal Chowdhury, 46, Nikhil Rajbangshi, 44, and Mohammad Sayeed, 45.

Tipped off that fraudsters were importing fake drugs from China and selling those in many places across the country, CID started investigation around one and a half months back, said its Special Super Mollah Nazrul Islam.

Following the investigation, the law enforcers conducted a drive at Tantibazar in Old Dhaka and arrested the trio, he said, reports UNB.

A case was filed with Kotwali Police Station in this connection, Nazrul said, adding that CID informed the matter to the Directorate General of Drug Administration.
