BNP trying to confuse people over graft cases against Khaleda: Hanif

Awami League joint general secretary Mahbub-Ul Alam Hanif on Friday said BNP is spreading falsehood regarding the ongoing graft case hearing against their party chief Khaleda Zia to confuse pople.

Hanif came up with the observations while talking to newsmen after inaugurating the foundation stone of Kushtia District Administration Auditorium Friday afternoon.

"BNP leaders have realized that all the evidences in the case are proving her liability beyond any doubt. So they are now spreading the falsehood," Hanif said.

"The judiciary in the country is totally independent. There is no scope of influencing the verdict here. If Khaleda Zia is truly innocent, she will be acquitted of the charges. There is no scope to cover up the crimes by confusing people through falsehood," he added.

District Awami League president Sadar Uddin Khan, general secretary Asgar Ali, district council chairman Robiul Islam, joint general secretary of district Awami League Engineer Faruk Hossain and Kushtia city Awami League president Taijal Ali Khan, among others.were present on the occasion.
