Rajshahi Division moved up to the Tier 1 of the four-day National Cricket League (NCL) as they placed top of the Tier 2 table after playing a draw against Dhaka Metro in the 6th and final round of the 19th edition match, which ended at Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium, Rajshahi on Saturday.
Dhaka Division finished bottom of the Tier1 and relegated to Tier2 for the next edition of NCL to join with Sylhet Division, Dhaka Metro and Chittagong Division who finished 2nd, 3rd and 4th place of the Tier2 table in this edition.
Rajshahi earned 25 points from six rounds while Sylhet Division earned 16 points and Dhaka Metro and Chittagong bagged 10 points each.
In the final round, Rajshahi scored 668/10 in 152.4 in the first innings with three centuries hammered by man of the match Nazmul Hossain (194), Mizanur Rhaman (175) and Forhad Reza (106), replying to Dhaka Metro’s 328/10 in 90.3 overs in the 1st innings and 118/5 in 31 overs in the 2nd innings.
In another 6th round Tier 2 match, Sylhet Division shared match points with Chittagong Division as the match ended in draw on day four at Sylhet International Stadium on Saturday.
Sylhet Division shared match points with Chittagong Division scoring 137/10 in 49.4 overs in the 1st innings and 309/7 in 126 overs in the 2nd innings, replying to Chittagong Division 215/10 in 67.4 overs in the 1st innings and 380/7-dec in 106 overs in the 2nd innings.
The match saw two centuries hit by man of the match Rajin Saleh (104) for Sylhet Division in the 2nd innings while Chittagong Division player Yasir Ali (102*) for the side in the 2nd innings.
