Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Saturday said that AL will win the next general elections again defeating the communal forces.
"The next general election will be held in the victory month of December...... AL will win the polls defeating the BNP led communal forces," the minister told a Victory Day procession in front of the Suhrawardy Udyan in the city.
The AL as the pro-liberation party and Bangabandhu's winning force, will win the next election under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Quader, also road transport and bridges minister, said.
Dhaka City South and North AL arranged the procession marking the country's 47th Victory Day.
AL Presidium Member and Agriculture Minister Begum Matia Chowdhury, Joint General Secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Jubo Mahila League General Secretary Apu Ukil and Bangladesh Chhatra League Central President Saifur Rahman Sohag spoke, among others.
Dhaka City South AL President Abul Hasnat presided over the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Matia Chowdhury urged the party leaders and workers to take oath to build 'Sonar Bangla' envisioned by Bangabandhu ensuring victory of Sheikh Hasina in the next polls.
The procession was ended at Bangabandhu Bhaban at Dhanmondi parading different streets of the city.
