3 killed in Bagerhat road accidents

Three people were killed and eight others injured in separate road accidents in Sadar upazila of the district on Saturday. 

Two people were killed and another was injured as a bus collided head-on with a pickup van on the Bagerhat-Khulna highway near Dharer Bridge of the upazila at about 6 am, said Officer-in-Charge of Bagerhat Model Police Station Mahatab Uddin.

The deceased are Mijan Halder, 30, son of Shekender Halder and Alamin Sheikh, 28, son of Alauddin Sheikh, residents of the same upazila. Both of them are passengers of the pickup van.

The injured was sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital.

Besides, another accident occurred in Barakpur area this noon when two buses collided head-on, leaving one bus driver Mukul, 50, dead on the spot and seven passengers of the bus injured, the OC said.

The injured were sent to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital.
