Over 20 shops serving Rohingyas of Leda Camp gutted by fire



At least 22 shops were gutted by a fire that broke out at the Leda Camp, a Rohingya slum bazar in Teknaf upazila in Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday night.

Zahed Hossain Siddiq, Upazila Nirbahi Officer, said the fire broke out from an electric short circuit at a grocer shop of the bazar around 8:15pm and it engulfed the adjoining establishments.

Later, locals and Rohingya people brought the fire under control. The extent of losses caused by the fire would exceed Tk 20 lakh, UNO added, reports UNB.
