Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) franchisee Rangpur Riders celebrated their maiden title through a gala event at Bashundhara Group Chairman House in Bashundhara Residential Area on Wednesday.

Bashundhara Group officials and Rangpur Riders fans and supporters celebrated the team’s victory by cutting a huge cake.

Bashundhara Group Vice-Chairman and Rangpur Riders Managing Director Safwan Sobhan Tasvir graced the event as the main attraction. More than thousand fans and supporters were present on the occasion.

Safwan Sobhan Tasvir’s wife and Bashundhara Group Director Yeasha Sobhan along with their daughter Renia Sobhan and son Shahzad Sobhan were also present at the meet.

Bashundhara Group officials gave a floral reception to the Rangpur Riders Managing Director and his wife.

After the event, Safwan Sobhan expressed his joy for clinching the BPL trophy for the first time.

“Earning the BPL title is a matter of pride for me. At the beginning, we did not expect to come so far. We developed ourselves over the course of time. Though the tournament is over, we have a lot of plans for next year’s edition of BPL,” he said.

Safwan Sobhan divulged his plan to go to Rangpur with BPL trophy very soon.

Rangpur Riders clinched the title of the fifth edition of Bangladesh Premier League, demolishing Dhaka Dynamites in the grand finale on Tuesday.

Rangpur routed Dhaka by 57 runs at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital.

In May 2017, Rangpur Riders started their journey afresh under the care of country’s largest business conglomerate Bashundhara Group.
